Ethics Committee for Science and Technology (CEST)

The Committee has the following missions:

• providing support and advice on the ethical and scientific integrity aspects of research and studies in science and technology;
• advising on ethical issues raised by a research project or study in science and technology;
• raising general awareness of ethics and scientific integrity among both staff and students, notably through the development of reference standards, documentation, procedures and application forms.

The Committee brings together representatives from the various faculties and researchers in the humanities and social sciences with expertise in science and technology. It thus brings together the disciplinary skills required for ethical analysis.

Any member of the academic, scientific or technical staff, or of the student community, faced with a question of an ethical nature in the course of his or her activities in the field of science and technology may submit a request to the Science and Technology Ethics Committee.

The Committee assesses the admissibility of the request on the basis of its competence.

The Committee's referral and operating procedures are set out in its internal regulations (approved by the Board of Directors on October 15, 2025) and in the guides and application forms made available to faculty communities.
