PPPC Candidate - autumn 2023

 David DOMGUE
 PPPC candidate - autumn 2023

Before the PPPC began, I was full of apprehensions about the demanding content of the cross-disciplinary training and the laboratory stay. Added to this was the fact that this was my first trip to Europe, where I'd not only be getting a taste of winter, but also no doubt feeling a little homesick.

The content of the cross-disciplinary training, though dense, was very well spread out over time so as to lighten the agenda and allow physical and mental availability for training and supervision activities in the laboratory. I was particularly impressed by the flexibility, availability and expertise of the trainers who, each in their own field, managed to stay one step ahead of our questions. As far as my stay at the ULiège Laboratory of Psychology, Logopedics and Educational Sciences was concerned, their scientific and human availability and generosity were outstanding. All this enabled me to learn the protocol of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy of Insomnia that I will deploy during my doctoral research in Cameroon, and to have time for sightseeing and culinary excursions, sports, and gala evenings.

Since my doctoral application has been accepted at ULiège and doctoral registration is not open for this year (2023-2024) in Cameroon, I am practicing Cognitive Behavioral Insomnia Therapy at the Institut Convergence Psy Santé in Douala and at the Laquintinie Hospital (my research field) while waiting for my doctoral research to begin.
