The EOS projects (Excellence of Science), which have a budget of 121 million Euros spread over a period of four years, aim to give a boost to basic research in our country by promoting collaborative projects between researchers from the north and south of the country. The University of Liège is participating in 16 of these projects, including three as coordinator.

fter the success of the first call in 2016 , some 278 dossiers were sent to the FNRS and its Flemish counterpart the FWO, following the second call launched in 2020. These were proposals for projects of a very high scientific level that aim to develop synergies between researchers from the north and south of the country. For this second edition, 37 projects were selected from among the many applications. Most of the projects were in the fields of medical sciences and science and technology. Twenty-nine researchers from ULiège will participate in these projects of excellence.
