This programme funds and continues to train post-doctoral researchers in international, intersectoral and interdisciplinary (physical) mobility.

Calendar - call 2024

There are 2 types of destinations (European or Global PF), each with its own particularities.

The evaluation of such projects will focus on the excellence of the candidate, his/her supervisor and host team (and their complementarity), the training programme and career development plan; the impact of the proposed project (exploitation-dissemination-communication of results, future professional opportunities, environmental impact via green charter); implementation and management of the project (supervision and follow-up).

The proposal may not exceed 10 pages (excluding annexes).

Resubmission possible if a score of min 70% is obtained in the previous year with the same host institution.

European Destination

 

1 beneficiary located in a European or associated country

Other organisations (located in any country of the world) can be partners (without direct funding) and host the researcher for secondment (for one or more fixed periods which cannot exceed in total 1/3 of the duration of the fellowship).

The researcher :

  • must be a postdoc researcher - must have successfully defended his/her doctoral thesis (by the closing date of the call). The postdoc researcher cannot have more than 8 years* of full-time equivalent research experience, starting from the date of obtaining his/her PhD; iconeNew
  • must be in a mobility situation : must not have spent more than 12 months during the last 3 years in the same country as the beneficiary (at the closing date of the call);
  • can be of any nationality. Researchers wishing to return to Europe after a long stay in a third country must be nationals or long-term residents (5 years consecutively) of an EU or associated country and not have returned to Europe for more than 12 months (reintegration condition). Researchers whishing to resume in research after a career break (at least 12 consecutive months before the call deadline) can apply with the « restart » condition.

Global Postdoctoral Fellowships

 

1 beneficiary located in a European or associated country AND a partner organisation located in a third country (outside Europe).

Other organisations (located in any country of the world) can be partners (without direct funding) and host the researcher on secondment (for one or more fixed periods which cannot exceed in total 1/3 of the duration of the secondment phase in the third country). A maximum of 3 months can be spent at the Beneficiary (EU) at the start of the project.

The researcher :

  • must be a postdoc researcher - must have successfully defended his/her PhD thesis (at the closing date of the call);
  • cannot have more than 8 years* of full-time equivalent research experience, starting from the date of obtaining his/her PhD; iconeNew
  • be a national or long-term resident of a European or associated countryre de nationalité ou résident de longue durée d’un pays européen ou associé;
  • must not have spent more than 12 months in the last 3 years in the same third country as the partner organisation (at the closing date of the call);
  • must spend the first phase of their scholarship (12 to 24 months) in the partner organisation located in a third country and must then return to the beneficiary for 12 months.
* possible extension of the eligibility window in particular cases

Duration

  • European : 12 to 24 months
  • Global : 24 to 36 months (12 to 24 months outside the EU + 12 months with the EU beneficiary)

Additional 6 months may be granted to candidates who wish to join a non-academic structure (EU or HE associated country) at the end of their MSCA project (this will have to be justified in terms of added value and career development in the proposal). iconeNew

Funding

Lump-sum allowances for the researcher :

  • 5.080 €/month - lump-sum for employer cost salary (researcher's gross salary + employer's charges), with correction coefficient per country (BE=1)
  • 600 €/month - lump-sum for mobility costs
  • 660 €/month - lump-sum for family expenses (if applicable)
    + additional lump-sums for long-term leaving or special needs (if applicable)

Allowances for the host institution (beneficiary) :

  • 1.000€/month for research, training and networking costs
  • 650€/month for management and indirect costs
