Three ULiège projects selected for Welbio Investigator Program funding
As part of the Welbio Investigator Program call for projects, two FARAH projects and one GIGA project were selected for funding at the Université de Liège.
As a public university open to the world and is anchored in the scientific, cultural and economic development of its region, the University of Liège relies on its three pillars: teaching, research and civic engagement.
ULiège trains responsible citizens who are provided with cutting-edge knowledge and critical thinking, are able to share knowledge and can push forward an increasingly complex world.
ULiège develops and promotes excellence in research, multidisciplinary and direct engagement with its instruction.
Global exposure is a top priority at the University of Liège. The institution offers a wide range of international mobility opportunities to students, researchers and staff, enabling them to enhance their cross-disciplinary skills and language knowledge.
ULiège: an experience of daily living. Located in 3 cities and 4 campuses, the university is a key player in terms of the environment and mobility.
Every year, the Belgian National Fund for Scientific Research (F.R.S.-FNRS) grants subsidies to researchers from the universities of the Fédération Wallonie Bruxelles so that they can devote themselves to their scientific research. Among these subsidies, fundings are dedicated to research projects. This year, 82 projects defended by ULiège researchers received support.
The FRS-FNRS (Fonds National de la Recherche Scientifique) is a public utility foundation whose aim is to promote scientific research in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation by granting subsidies to researchers to enable them to devote themselves to scientific research, and to institutions to enable them to equip or operate research units. For more than 90 years, the FNRS has been contributing to the development of fundamental research in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation through its policy of encouraging scientific excellence and supporting researchers at the various stages of their careers.
A funding instrument for an individual researcher (or his or her team) to provide funding for basic and exploratory research or to encourage the emergence of new research themes and researchers.
