  • IP rights overview and related rights, focused of patent rights
  • Declaration of invention
  • Criteria of patentability
  • Patent procedure : from patent application till granted patent
  • The means of proof (laboratory notebook, i-depot)
  • Patent and publication, compatible ?
  • Valorization of research findings :
    • Tools : license & spin-off
    • do’s and don’ts : ex MTA, NDA
    • success stories (cases)


The goal of this training is to inform participants in an interactive way about :

  • Intellectual property (IP) and transfer of technology issues in a research project
  • Intellectual property and related rights, focused on the patents
  • The importance of confidentiality and protection measures before disclosing certain research findings

Developed skills

This training will enable participants to question on the protection of their results before any disclosure and allow them to integrate issues related to intellectual property rights into their research project.
